The Afterschool Club

Sessions:

Collection from school until 6.00 p.m. Term time only. 4˝ to 11 year olds.

Staff

4 staff members to a maximum of 22 children and a minibus driver

Out of school services are for primary school-aged children to play, learn and have fun in groups. We provide a safe and secure environment providing stimulating child-centred play activities outside of regular school hours. We meet the stringent regulations set out in the National Standards.

Ofsted require childcare providers to demonstrate that they help children to meet the five Every Child Matters Outcomes of:

Being healthy
Staying safe
Enjoying and achieving
Making a positive contribution
Contributing to financial well-being

Collection from school/Parents own arrangements of transport

The minibus calls at St Augustins, St James, St Peter’s Hawkenbury, Claremont and St John’s school, depending on numbers and demand. Children from other infant & primary schools are not excluded from attending the club but parents need to arrange their own transport to the centre.

Tea

The five week menu offers a wide variety of food for the childrens afternoon tea. click here After tea the children have the choice of numerous indoor or outdoor activities - weather and state of light permitting.

Facilities/Activities

The centre offers excellent facilities and play space. The playroom accommodates a variety of indoor activities:- board games, craft activities, snooker, computer games,wii, playstation, dressing-up, toys and the children have their own CD Rom Computer. An adjoining room provides a comfortable area for TV and videos. Whilst we encourage children to participate in games and activities rather than watch TV, we do recognise that there are times when your child will want to see a favourite programme or will just want to relax. Absences

When collecting the children by minibus we are obviously very concerned if a child is not there waiting and a search has to be made to determine where the child is. This situation is not only very worrying for the staff but also delays the minibus pick up. If your child is to be absent for any reason it is vital that you inform the centre before 2.30 pm A charge of Ł10 will be added to the fees if parents fail to inform us of their child’s absence before 2.30pm. All absences must be paid for.

Collection of children from the After School Club

The evening collection time has been extended to 6.p.m. without any extra charge therefore we have a strict collection time of 6pm or before or a Ł20 penalty will be charged for each quater of an hour overdue. Any parent who fails to collect their child by 6pm even if it is by just a few minutes will be charged. For your own sake please be prompt.
